Dave Stockwell

Dave Stockwell is one of the top Criminal Defense Attorneys in the State of Oklahoma.  Dave handles all municipal and state criminal cases in Norman, Oklahoma and the surrounding areas.  He has earned his reputation through years of dedicated legal service and positive relationships with the legal community.  Dave has been practicing law for over 30 years, focusing mostly on Criminal and Expungement Law.  He specializes in representing people charged with drug and alcohol related offenses.  Dave’s passion for what he does was recognized years ago by the former Cleveland County District Attorney when he appointed Dave to serve as Chairman for the Cleveland County Community Sentencing Planning Council and Co-Chair of the Cleveland County Adult Drug Court Program.  He was appointed over 17 years ago and continues to hold these positions to this day.

Dave is the past President of the Cleveland County Bar Association, a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, a member of the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and a member of the National College for DUI Defense.  Dave is recognized by peers and was selected to Super Lawyers for 2010.  This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.  Being selected to Super Lawyers is limited to a small number of attorneys in each state.  As one of the few attorneys to garner the distinction of Super Lawyers , Dave Stockwell has earned the respect of peers as one of the top-rated attorneys in the nation.

In addition to his years of experience and extensive knowledge of Oklahoma law, one of the things that makes Dave an excellent Defense Attorney is his previous career in law enforcement.  After graduating college, Dave Stockwell became an undercover drug agent with of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. As a Senior Agent, Dave worked in various capacities, undercover, pharmacy audits and investigations.  After six years, he resigned, got married, and entered law school. Graduating in 1989, he went to practice with his father, who began his office in 1963.  Dave has maintained a wonderful relationship with all law enforcement agencies allowing him to gain their cooperation while representing his clients.
Here he is still practicing and protecting the rights of citizens of Cleveland County and the State of Oklahoma. Dave has a good relationship with law enforcement and an understanding on how they do their jobs, and he has firsthand knowledge on how their investigations are conducted.

Madison Stockwell Clark

Madison Stockwell Clark is a partner at Stockwell & Clark, PLLC.  Her practice focuses on Criminal Defense, Expungement Law, Family Law and General Civil Litigation.  Madison is also a licensed realtor/broker with extensive knowledge in real property law.

Mrs. Clark graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Energy Management in 2012.  During her undergraduate career, Madison was a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Entertia Software Certified, and represented the University of Oklahoma at the OGIS Conference in New York.  Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Clark began a career as a landman for SandRidge Energy in Oklahoma City.

In 2013, Mrs. Clark decided to follow her passion and her long family tradition of legal practice. She entered the Oklahoma City University School of Law.  In law school, Mrs. Clark was fortunate to be awarded a clerkship with the then Vice Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court, the Honorable Douglas Combs, which lasted from the second semester of her first year of law school until she graduated in 2016.  In addition to her work with the Supreme Court and her legal studies, Mrs. Clark obtained an internship at the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office in her second year where she worked on the Special Victim’s/Gang Unit as well as on a general felony docket until her graduation.

Upon passing the Bar, Mrs. Clark was offered a full-time position as a Prosecutor for Oklahoma County. She quickly worked her way up from handling a misdemeanor docket to a felony revocation docket.  Due to her outstanding work ethic and legal abilities, she was awarded with a general felony docket and also received special assignments on murder and manslaughter cases.  During her time with the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office Madison handled hundreds of cases from the filing of criminal charges through disposition or verdict.  She has thousands of hours of courtroom experience, including jury trial experience. Upon leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Madison has maintained her excellent relationship with that office as well as with law enforcement.

Mrs. Clark joined her father’s firm in January, 2019 as a partner.  She has become the third generation of Stockwells to practice law in Norman, Oklahoma.
